Product Illustration for Haworth Furniture: Fern Chair in Red

This piece is a representation of how my original technique of Potter's Wheel Spun-Acrylic on Layered Vinyl translates as product illustration. Commissioned by Haworth Furniture through Interphase Interiors Studio Blue of Grand Rapids, Michigan, this illustration was used for the mass-produced Artprize 2017 Brochure international and city-wide Art competition . Haworth Furniture was a major funding partner while Interphase Interiors hosted multiple collaborative Meeting-of-the-Mind's sessions with art experts and artists.

This advertisement introduced their new cutting edge office-and-studio Fern Chair. Emphasis was placed on a Mondrian-style color scheme highlighting the organic vertebrae economic design of the back curve. Everything about this connection felt right: organic, curvilinear, artistic, and ultra modern. While working in studio, I surrounded myself with tacked-up clippings of photos and product shots Haworth had provided. I created the entire work sitting on a hard oak chair. Many hours later, I requested a red Fern Chair with a gray spine as bartered payment...
